Anne Soulet

Anne was born and went to school in France. At the age of 21 she went to live in London where she married her American husband. After 10 years they went to live in Boston MA. Here Anne studied for a masters degree in Holistic Psychology. During and after this time Anne worked as a counselor in the secure unit of a psychiatric hospital. Anne also led groups in stress reduction in the State female prison in Framingham, MA. Alongside this Anne developed a regular meditation practice at Cambridge Insight Meditation Centre (CIMC) where she met and started to work with Jon Kabat-Zinn.

Together with other professionals they adapted and taught Jon’s 8-week mindfulness based stress reduction course for the prison system. Anne taught this program for four years. In 1996 Anne trained for a Diploma in Yoga Therapy with Mukunda Stiles, author of the book Structural Yoga Therapy. Anne then went on to open a private practice in Boston, offering mindfulness based stress reduction, holistic psychotherapy and structural yoga therapy. Anne has deepened her holistic approach by studying Ayurveda with Dr Douillard in Boulder, Co. It was through the ayurvedic process of deep cleansing called panchakarma that Anne found her heart calling back to France, her land of origin. Since returning in March '07, Anne has reopened her private practice and started to lead meditation and yoga retreats in the south of France.
